Castle Air Museum, Atwater,California
There were approximately 80+ aeroplanes ranging from various times placed in the ground in open air. It allows you to closely observe and touch every parts of aeroplanes and see differences on how each is designed for various purposes. You could also see live repairs that directs your imagination of thinking a plane just like another car with slight different design and different fuel!

Blackbird at the display!
Any function you observe in one machine can be leveraged to assimilate into another!
Get your checklist right or risk an accident!

Thornberry Museum, Yosemite, California

Dedication of an old man!

Dedication of an old man to explain the artifacts in the museum was inspirational in one word. Museum had earlier version of refrigerators, washing machines, stoves, irons etc. They will make you feel “Damn! how far have we come?”

Forestiere underground gardens museum, Fresno

Underground room
Everything made with love, patience and hard work is valuable!

The museum offers very different experience as compared to other ones, the underground house was aesthetically not very impressive but the effort Forestiere put was visible, he did all the work by himself in the span of 40 years. Perseverance in one word.
Just do the work!

Cable Car Museum, SF

The only working cable car system in the world.

Cartoon Art Museum, San Francisco, California

Humans love progress, anyone who does not ? Today we talk about 3D, VR, spatial computing!
history of video making!

California Automobile Museum, Sacramento

what’s inside your car ?

The skeleton of a car makes it easier to see what’s inside the car!

California Agriculture Museum, woodland, California

All the agricultural tools used in the process of keeping food to our table.
It is a worth reflecting how farmers took innovative approaches to farming and transformed machines for specialized farming functions.

Machines used in Agriculture are whole another level of study! Seeing machines progress over time to serve various unique functions was very fulfilling!

California being the major agricultural state demands the presence of an agricultural museum and this museum answers most of the questions related to Agricultural history. Horses were tractors of 19th century agriculture.

Innovative state of California has innovation in almost every sector!
Mechanization of Agriculture works: humans ->oxen -> horses -> machines -> robots !

Nevada state museum (mining +minting), Carson city, Nevada

This museum was like a simulation of mining.
Not just it offered the simulation of all the things that a miner has to do underground, it also became a starting point museum that allowed me to generate interest in all the instruments used in getting to the final product.
It felt some sort of strange satisfying feeling (it could be depiction of some sort of personality lol!) of easing the visualization of “how things work”!
every single object lying in the museum felt so special and important to study for some weird reason. Curiosity was at max for every single things lying the museum. various factors could have led to such thoughts!

square set stope: “model shows how large veins are mined with square set timbering. Ore is dug at top, then dropped down chutes to cars for hoisting to the surface!” A great invention that saved thousands of miners!
Board describing the contribution of Phlip Diedesheimer.

Here is a story about Philip Diedesheimer on Bonanza TV show and how he came up with the idea of square set stope. Hints: Biomimicry!

Baltimore Museum of Industry, Baltimore, Maryland

The museum made me think about so many things all at once and made me feel to take nothing for granted, nothing! everything around you is an innovation, observation, improvement and hard work of hundreds if not thousands years.

with the rise of AI, what new profession will be born ?

Also it was at this museum where my suppressed curiosity from childhood surfaced. When I was young, my mom used to take me to jewelry shop and I used to wander how are shape of jewelry made ?
Where does the gold come from ?
But, I never asked such questions to anyone and i don’t know why.
With no ignition of such curiosity again, my questions got pushed into my unconscious only for BMI to ignite it again for the good.

This section of museum accessed the curiosity from the hard disk aka unconscious as it talked about machinists, blacksmiths, melting, hammering, casting, trimming, molding, ironworks, metalworkers etc!

Space and Air museum, DC

The first successful flight in aviation history flew for 12 seconds. The first successful rocket flew up for 205 feet in 3.2 seconds.

This museum is one of my favorites and it provides insights on courage and possibilities of innovations.
This museum probably offers the most thorough explanation of what went into the making of the first plane that flew for 12 seconds.

Wright brothers’ pre aeronautical profession was building and fixing bikes, me next to their bike! working as a mechanics became an outlet for their mechanical interests!

National museum of Mathematics, New York

Animals teach us many things we just need to observe them more!
Da Vinci had an acumen for so many things — maybe because he was never taught what exactly to learn?

Museum of Modern Art(MoMA), New York

This was a “take nothing for granted” and “respect the amount of hard work it takes to build even one animation character” moment!

What’s the first thought you got seeing the picture above ?

MOMA also acknowledges the amount of work it takes!
Just some words manufactured, adopted and poured by us in the Universe, do not let your creation harm you!
