Why am I writing this book ?

The architect of your career is <you tell me>

If I write about my research methodologies right here at the beginning, it will be a long list, but if you prefer knowing about them before you study the book please refer to the last chapter of the book.
Am I credible and experienced enough to write a book about Engineering and women given that I barely have couple of years of experience in the field ?
I believe I do.

Firstly, because less women in Engineering and their dropping out decisions from the industry is very less of an Engineering skills problem and more of incomprehensible problems that I seek to make comprehensible.

Secondly, I believe so because my job here is not to speak as an experienced Engineer but to deliver message like the best lawyer whose job is to convince the judge, that is, you the readers.
The court is my book where the debate takes place.
The plaintiff’s case is “women cannot do a better job as good Engineers than men”

The defendant of the case is obviously the need for more women Engineers and making the case for the desperate need for more and better women Engineers and showcasing its achievability.
I have not come across the good enough lawyer defending the case of why more women in Engineering. Having as strong lawyer as possible to defend such argument is the only way that will ensure the engagement and retention of more women in Engineering.

In other words, the case that deserves a victory is “Why more competitive women in Engineering ?”
The mindset and skills of a lawyer should be applied less in workplace and more in contents and nurturing of early education when it comes to debating.
My goal would be successful if you can easily figure out that the innovation for efficient methodologies and policies lies in the gap of what it takes to shut a man and what work needs to be done to silence a woman ?

They have not found candidate theory of everything in physics as of yet. But, if you were to ask me, I would like to argue that theory of everything in life is care.
How can I get to the root of truth when I do not show enough care for what it takes to get closer to the truth as much as possible ?
How can I possibly invent anything with disregard for invention?
How can I be a competent doctor to best treat a patient if I show carelessness towards competence?
How can I build intelligence without caring attitude for intelligence?
How can I succeed by neglecting skills, mindset, attitude and the work it takes to be successful?
How can I even care if I don’t care about building mastery of caring?

Of course, a caring attitude for intelligence may not necessarily gift you intelligence if our ability might have been compromised by limiting factors of Intelligence such as certain genetic traits or diseased conditions. However, it is known that there is no such one size fits all solution to what comprises of Intelligence.
David J. Bartholomew, a researcher in social science statistics concludes in his book Measuring Intelligence: Facts and Fallacies that Intelligence testing and literature on intelligence is complex and multi-faceted (p.163). In his book he claims that Intelligence has always attracted the controversy of “nature vs nurture” and debate around “pseudo-science vs a weapon of ideological warfare”. He also maintains that Intelligence testing has a long and controversial history and whether it can be measured accurately still remains unresolved.
Mozart of Mathematics, Terence Tao says that “Talent is important, but how one develops and nurtures it is even more so.”

Building on such incomplete understanding of Intelligence, I believe interest and care for intelligence can bridge the gap between what is known and what is incomprehensible about Intelligence. Just like how with love and care of the child, a mother builds resilience and bears almost any struggles that comes on the way of her child, care for the thing that you care the most builds resilience needed to nourish that thing.

So, the obvious curiosity would be how do I know the thing that I care and am interested about the most, why should I care and how do I build the mother to a childlike caring relationship with that thing?
We have an entire book to answer.

Has women ever been known for lacking care as compared to men ?
Never.
Till date we can be certain that women is known for better caring capacity as compared to men even though it can be argued that only women should not be labelled as the ones possessing the characteristics of care. But, that is a debate for another chapter. It is good to know so much about caring, but where is her competence of care invested in ?
Is she careless about mathematical and scientific mindset ?
How likely is it that as she showcases her care in one skill, she is having hard time allotting care and attention in other skills?

Maryam Mirzakhani is the first and only female winner of the Fields Medal since its inception in 1936. She had mentioned that she did very poorly in Mathematics in middle school because she was just not interested in thinking about it.
Bottomline is if a woman has careless attitude about mathematical and scientific mindset, she will also have no right to complain about the expected results that are not as close to reality as possible no matter the reality of varied issues that we are concerned about.
Careless attitude on how not to be wrong will not develop any care for right results. I believe that if a woman wishes to show care for reality related to her career, she should first learn ways that takes her to closest possible attainable truth for that career.

The most important question she should be asking herself is what comprises of her spirit and who are the intentional and unintentional actors trying to break such spirit. She should also be able to afford the exploration and search of her spirit i.e. she should not be handed over a fabricated spirit by someone else and be convinced that she built it.

Just like how a beautiful work of art transforms state of mind temporarily and take away the power to differentiate the real and imaginary, there are illusions hidden in the plain sight deceiving us and telling us to treat them as real.

It would help women higly to recognize the illusions, deceptions, masterminds and psychology associated with the ruin or inefficiency of their career that they love. It is also equally important that they understand the origin of the deficit, the architect behind the anxiety and planner of the trauma women experience and in many cases such experiences eventually contribute towards less competence, disengagement, or forces them to drop out of their field. It could be possible that the crisis is manufactured but incomprehensible, but only with love for discovery and truth, the reality of director of crisis will be found even if the outcomes mean something that is against what you wished for. Let the inquiry be about exploration, discovery and truth finding not about the outcomes.

I am not trying to be your counsellor here. What I am trying to convince you here of is how to be a psychologist of your own career, in our career in Engineering, how to be a spy to the enemies of your career including your own skills. I am asking of you to try to listen and focus on your own illusionary and deceptive thoughts about your career, especially in Engineering but can be subtly applied in other fields and get to the roots of them.
I am also requesting you to be your own attorney to defend your ambitions and passions and defeat the obstructions that come your way.

There will be a lot people in your life who will tell you or communicate ideas, issues in a very intimidating way. Let that be at home, in school, in colleges, at workplace, in movies, in fiction, by mentors or any information that found its way into your consciousness that was fed during your interaction with the imperfect external world as well as internal world formed from malformed world. Such input maybe intentional or unintentional. But intentionality of others should not affect what you should be achieving neither it should govern the intentionality and outcome of your career. There should be no reason for you to be inspired, be comprehensible and governed by others before you have finished your journey of understanding yourself.

Have you ever thought of the right age of consent where you can successfully understand and evaluate what goes into the world of delusions in pursuing and continuing Engineering career ?
The clarity of consent only comes with understanding and internalizing what comprises of consent. Understanding the consent to what you love doing and achieving should come from and belong to you through your own knowledge, your own terms and conditions and your own understanding and inspection not entirely from what others perspective of what it should be comprised of.
Imagine this as a scenario where the contract your career signed with your future and to which you agreed with the terms and conditions of the contract. But such terms and conditions are barely understood on your own most of the times and its meaning and accurate interpretation can only be guaranteed to be provided by good and well intentioned lawyer.
It becomes obvious that the lawyer has to proficient if you want to win the case or make your case stronger where the fuel is to serve the higher purpose.

It is futile to remind but important that the lawyer who represents your case always makes sure you understand the terms and conditions you are entering into. The whole point I am prioritizing here again is to be a competent advocate for defending your consent, your agreement, your terms and conditions, and making sure you understand the reality of the contract you sign with the career you love to which you can take accountability and feel responsible when you look back at your decisions.

Are you making sure what you are trying to be convinced of ?
When you feel uncertain, remember that they used to convince that it was a choice, devotion, an act of godly attribute and that woman consented to sacrifice her life by sitting atop her dead husband’s funeral pyre as part of ritual in Sati System.
